We are looking to recruit a patient, warm, caring and reliable *Female Support Worker with a full clean driving licence and car for a lady in her thirties with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy in her own home and in the Cardiff area. Client lives with her husband, cat and dog and likes to live a full and active lifestyle.
Role will involve all personal & domestic care, as well as supporting client to attend and participate in a wide range of different activities, including attending the gym / boxing as well as supporting client to care for her cat and dog. The client completes head painting and runs regular market stalls, the support worker will need to assist with these.
You must be registered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales.
You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All-Wales Induction Framework OR be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful.
Competent IT skills are desirable.
What you will be working:

Salary:
6. per hour weekdays
7. £ per hour weekends
8. £ per hour Weekday night / Sleep rate
9. £ per hour Weekend night / Sleep rate
What you will be doing:
10. Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems
11. Liaise with and support the family as required
12. Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained
13. Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
14. Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
15. Maintain accurate and confidential records
16. Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
17. Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate
What you will have:
18. Full driving licence and own car are essential
19. Ability to treat people with respect and dignity, in a non-judgemental, respectful and caring way, acknowledging their individuality
20. Previous experience working with clients with cerebral palsy and an understanding of special educational needs
21. An NVQ / QCF Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
22. A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible
23. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
24. Willingness to learn and develop
25. Registered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales.
26. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and enrol in the DBS update service
