One of the UK's largest and most trusted veterinary supplies retailers is looking to hire a Buyer into their Equine division in Bedford, with a salary of £35,000.
Our client is part of a larger group that offers fully integrated pet insurance and pet health services. They have outgrown three warehouses before moving to their current location in Bedford and have a clear growth ambition to become a world leader in their field. They now need to add a Buyer to their busy team in the Equine division.
Responsibilities:
* Experience as a buyer or equestrian account manager.
* Knowledge of the Equine market.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Problem-solving abilities.
* Strong commercial experience with a proven track record of delivering budgets and managing multiple KPIs.
* Ability to analyze complex sets of data.
* Self-motivated and organized with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define and execute a successful strategy for the category.
* Ensure key performance metrics related to overall category performance are measured closely and achieved, including sales and margin performance.
* Manage supplier performance, identify potential new suppliers, and support the building of long-term supplier relationships.
Qualifications:
* Knowledgeable in the equine market.
* Willing to attend trade shows.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* Ability to work closely with other departments to execute a successful buying strategy.
