Megabit Publishing is the publishing arm of Aonic Group that was created to support its 1st and 3rd party studio partners. Key titles under Megabit currently in development include OtherSide Entertainment’s Thick As Thieves, the surreal fever dream OMUT from Madame Cyclone, Grit and Valor 1949 from Milky Tea, and the cozy open world adventure Lou’s Lagoon from Tiny Roar.
Aonic is a rapidly expanding video gaming group (no gambling) with a presence in over 12 global offices and more than 600 employees. The group recently completed one of the largest funding rounds in the global games industry in 2024, positioning itself for accelerated expansion of its games.
The Role
We are in search of a Finance Manager to join the Megabit Publishing team. You will have the overarching responsibility of the finance function of Megabit, and hold a pivotal role in optimizing finance operations, reporting directly to Managing Director of Megabit and the Group CFO. This position presents an invaluable learning opportunity by leading and building the finance function of a new business within an international group. It combines the exciting challenge of establishing a robust finance operation while conducting financial planning and analysis to support the business and the group.
Responsibilities
Finance Operations & Compliance
* Manage all financial aspects of the UK entity, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable and payroll. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors. Optimise monthly closing and finance processes with ERP system.
* Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements. Ensure IPO readiness for UK entity perspective.
* Maintain and oversee key marketing and publishing costs, analysing outcomes and collaborating with management to optimize financial efficiency.
* Support decision making by closely monitoring financial performance, including revenue analysis for various projects, cost tracking per project and project profitability analysis.
* Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses. Oversee cash management and forecasting, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs. Manage payment flows for the UK entity.
Group Reporting & Consolidation
* Work closely with the Aonic group finance team to ensure timely and accurate group financial reporting, and compliance to group policies, accounting principles and financial manual.
* Support group-wide reporting requirements, including IFRS-based consolidation.
* Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
* Provide financial insights to the Managing Director and leadership team to support strategic decision-making, in particular game related financials for greenlight committee and follow-up.
* Collaborate with publishing, production, and development teams to enable financial transparency.
* Support financial processes around game launches, revenue models, and platform partnerships.
Key Skills & Experience
* A finance professional with 4-8 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or FP&A.
* Experience in gaming, entertainment, digital publishing, or tech industries is a plus.
* Hands-on and proactive, comfortable working in a fast-moving, international environment.
* Exceptional analytical thinking and unwavering attention to detail, coupled with a robust sense of ownership.
* Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills, with experience working with game financials a plus.
* Proficient in systems and processes, with expertise in ERP systems, Excel, and reporting tools.
