This is an exciting time to join the Diabetes and Endocrinology department in Warwick. A diabetes clinical network is already overseeing integration and innovation in diabetes care across the district including incorporation of Telehealth and supporting community services. In addition, the trust is affiliated with providing education needs for students from the Buckingham Medical School and Warwick Medical School. The department is looking to expand focus on admission avoidance and expediting discharges by appointing a new consultant. Joining a team of seven other consultants and nurse specialists, the new appointee will provide in-patient care for diabetes and general medical patients on a 7 day basis as well as running comprehensive outpatient services. There will be opportunity for the candidates to develop sub specialty interests and services in line with the service needs. In addition, the candidates will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the Diabetes and Endocrine block of undergraduate medical education to the phase 2 students from Buckingham Medical School and Warwick Medical School. We are a forward-thinking Trust who has been recognized nationally for our work on patient pathways and integration across the health and social care economy. In addition to our acute services, we provide a full range of community services. Please see job description for further details.
