Role Overview:
Within Leidos, CIO Services provide Enterprise IT to internal Leidos customers globally.
The CIO Services UK team are about to embark on a significant cloud deployment enabling use of the cloud for hosting enterprise services and various business programme requirements. We’re therefore looking for a technical expert with an in-depth understanding of AWS and Azure, infrastructure components, security best practices, and architectural patterns.

To be successful we need somebody who possesses curiosity, creativity, tech-savviness, persistence, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will already be used to collecting requirements, developing architectures while identifying efficiencies and improvements along the way. Providing guidance on resource allocation, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization will also be an important part of the role.
Most services we provide in-country are on-prem right now and so experience in VMware vSphere and NSX will be advantageous, as would a strong desire to pass on knowledge and experience to colleagues at all levels beginning their journey into cloud computing.
Skills Required:
* Strong experience leading cloud initiatives or senior level cloud engineering
* Substantial experience leading and designing cloud/on-prem infrastructure solutions
* AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional level certification
* Demonstrable experience of transitioning legacy platforms to AWS
* Demonstrable experience of implementing solutions using AWS with Linux technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
* Demonstrable experience of working in a DevOps environment

* Experience troubleshooting/analysing issues in the cloud, scripts and performance bottlenecks
* Strong foundational knowledge of technology concepts including cloud operating models, networking, security, compute and operating systems
* Ability to develop peer networks across an enterprise to maintain technology awareness and to support the resolution of problems
* Must be able to obtain UK MoD SC level clearance
* Willingness to occasionally work outside normal business hours or weekends as needed to avoid disruption during core business operations
Skills Desired:
* Azure Solution Architect Expert certification or Google Cloud Architect Professional certification
