The focus of the role is to promote and facilitate the voice of the children and young people we care for to be heard to help us improve our services and hold us to account. This involves running our voice groups, holding annual celebratory events such as the awards for our children in care and our summer event, and supporting young people to be involved in recruitment, training and service development.
The post also promotes and facilitates the voice of parents who have experience of our services through the coordination of the Family Advisory Board. Alongside these primary functions the post does involve some line management responsibility including our Subject Access to Records Worker for our Care Experienced Young People, our SEND Information, Advice and Support Service, Participation Administrator and our Voice Ambassadors.
The successful candidate will need to be able to form positive relationships with our children and young people able to find creative ways to have fun and hear their voice. They will also be able to form good relationships with our parents, line manage a variety of roles, manage a budget and engage in significant strategic and operational report writing.
The post necessarily involves some evening work.
