Overview
This role is part of a dynamic team who are focused on managing and implementing new complex solutions and innovations into a thriving firm. The firm is going through a significant technology transformation and this role will be managing a number of the project & business change activities throughout and into the future.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role will be:
1. Meeting with stakeholders to identify requirements, resources, timelines and costs.
2. Developing project plans, RAID logs and project status reports to ensure timely delivery, reduce risk and communicate progress to stakeholders.
3. Identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience and strengths of team members.
4. Management and forecasting of project budgets.
5. Challenging proposed recommendations and decisions at all levels using a logic based approach.
6. Championing user experience and the best outcome for the firm for all elements of the project.
7. Managing vendors/consultants as needed and collaborate with stakeholders across the firm.
8. Keeping skills up to date and take responsibility for self-development.
9. Working with existing solutions and identify opportunities for improvements.
10. Maintaining appropriate documentation.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
Essential skills
1. An excellent communicator, presenter, negotiator and team player.
2. Present and talk confidently with stakeholders at all levels, from the board to external suppliers.
3. At least three years of delivering solutions to a business.
4. Ability to understand complex requirements, analyse using an objective mind and logical thinking to produce robust/understandable requirements.
5. Apply different people/project management skills dependent on the situation, in addition to applying a variety of communication styles in accordance with the audience.
6. An intrinsic self-motivator with a keen ability to prioritise and manage workloads for self and a project team.
7. Ability to work under pressure, maintaining composure at all times.
8. Exposure to formal project management methodologies such as Prince2, APM, Agile or Scrum.
Desirable skills and experience
1. Experience with project management tools.
2. Knowledgeable and experienced in delivering effective solutions.
3. Experienced with complex projects, IT and otherwise.
4. Exposure to the legal or professional services sectors.
5. Project management certification (such as Prince2, APM, Agile/Scrum)
