We are currently looking for a Compliance Advice Manager with a consumer credit and motor finance background. This is very much a hybrid opportunity for the right person.
Reporting to the Head of Compliance Advice, this exciting role provides high-quality compliance advice on the Group’s FCA regulated consumer credit/hire and general insurance products and services.
What awaits you?
1. Deputise for the Head of Compliance Advice regularly and, as needed, for the Chief Compliance Officer.
2. Provide expert compliance advice, solutions and recommendations to senior management and the businesses on the products and services offered by the Group in the UK and as needed, the Republic of Ireland.
3. Develop strong partnerships throughout the businesses and with our regulatory legal team and other internal departments including sales, operations, HR, strategy, change and risk management.
4. Deliver high quality analysis and communication around regulatory developments and actively advocate for and support business transformation.
5. Provide expert advice and compliance leadership on regulatory change, policy and strategic projects.
6. Develop first class compliance processes, policies, manuals, plans and guides.
7. Support an effective and independent compliance framework and culture including compliant business processes and models.
8. Support robust compliance breach and risk management processes seeing issues through to resolution.
9. Deliver high quality investigative reports and recommendations as needed.
10. Provide expert support on regulatory engagement and supervisory matters as needed.
11. Deliver high quality training to senior management and our businesses.
12. Develop and peer coach members of the compliance team.
What should you bring along?
1. Demonstrable experience in a compliance, regulatory or legal role in a financial services firm with prior experience of consumer credit/hire, general insurance and motor finance required.
2. Expert knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act (CCA), Consumer Duty and the following FCA Sourcebooks is essential - CONC, ICOBS, COCON, SYSC, DISP and PROD needed.
3. Deep experience of a variety of compliance disciplines and practices including advice, training, regulatory relations, monitoring, investigations, gap and impact analyses, project planning, presentation/report/policy writing is a must have.
4. Strong knowledge of TC, FCA high-level standards and SMCR-related requirements is needed.
5. Good knowledge of UK and European legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines, competition law and modern slavery requirements is helpful.
6. Ability to develop MI, compliance processes and risk/breach management measures is a real positive.
7. A legal or accountancy background with a good project management track record and/or qualification are ideal.
8. Educated to degree standard or equivalent.

8. The facility to support and develop team members and peers and the ability to cover for senior compliance staff when called for.
