Learning Support Assistant (SEN & Challenging Behaviour)
Location: BS13 area
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with challenging behaviour, at a school located in the BS13 area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who require additional support to thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support for children with SEN, focusing on those with challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
2. Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual students.
3. Implement behaviour management strategies to help the child stay focused, engaged, and regulated.
4. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
5. Build strong, positive relationships with the children, offering emotional and social support.
6. Encourage a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students.
7. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide tailored support for the child's needs.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children with SEN, especially those with challenging behaviour.
2. Ability to use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient and nurturing approach.
4. A passion for working with children and supporting their individual needs.
