Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Outpatient services in University Hospitals Sussex at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.
1. The appointee with specialist interest in nutrition would support the excellent nutrition teams within the trust. They would be expected to support specialist outpatient clinics and the nutrition ward round teams.
2. Endoscopy provision - predominantly diagnostic upper and lower GI endoscopy as well as GI bleeding therapeutics; n.b. other therapeutic skills and interests would also be welcomed.
3. Rotational commitment to the provision of care on our gastroenterology inpatient unit in Royal Sussex County Hospital.
4. Rotational commitment to the out of hours GI bleed rota and weekend gastroenterology inpatient unit.
5. For these fixed term posts the department would be happy to support any sub-speciality interests of an enthusiastic candidate which complemented the existing consultant body.
6. We would expect the appointed candidate to share in the cohesive, professional and patient centred approach of the existing department.

1. JAG accredited diagnostic and therapeutic upper/lower endoscopy.
2. Understanding of clinical risk management.

Experience Qualifications
Essential Criteria
1. Basic medical degree.
2. Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification.
3. Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
4. CCT in Gastroenterology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC).
5. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC.
