We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Kirton team in the position of Cleaner.
The role is to ensure the regular cleaning of plant amenities, to ensure the Health and Safety of fellow operatives and enable plant/machinery to complete its purpose with increased efficiency and reduction in downtime. Cover must be provided for personnel involved in the production process, at such times relevant competencies must be adhered to and met.
Your duties would include but are not limited to the following:
* On a set rota system, with the flexibility to allow priority situations to be prioritised, K3 machines and the De-Hacker must have designated areas cleaned of debris.
* Carry out a daily task of vacuuming dust from the production area floor (a vital way of reducing dust exposure and silica levels).
* Clean and re-stock toilets and shower areas.
* Liaise and communicate with the store man over stock levels and any requirements needed.
* Process overalls in order for them to be sent for cleaning and then re-distributed around the yard on return, to relevant workstations.
* Upon instruction, carry out the re-bagging of stock process, including lifting packs down from cache, placing bags over packs, shrink-wrapping the bags, and re-stocking the product.
* Empty waste bins from sited workstations to correct waste bins.
* Unload lorries with delivery of stock and store in a safe and correct manner.
* Report all health and safety concerns to the shift supervisor, safety leader, or management, depending on severity.
* Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
* Upon collection of the vehicle, carry out pre-start checks as per the manufacturers' recommendations and fill out the daily logbook, reporting any defects to the production foreman.
* Ensure awareness of all emergency procedures.
* Drive the vehicle using best practice in accordance with the CTA or other recognised certificate qualification.
* At all times, be aware of pedestrians and other traffic.
About you:
Despite no formal academic qualifications or education being required, the individual requires a minimum of a 3-month training period, in which they will be assessed and supervised by a competent operator and examined against a competency check sheet.
