Job Description
The Front of House and Welcome Team are often the first point of contact for people visiting or working at the Young Vic, acting as reception, stage door and greeting for all. We strive to provide a radical welcome to everyone. The Welcome Team Manager oversees the provision of a professional, friendly and efficient operation responding to the needs of Audiences, YV staff members, contractors and visitors in line with the Young Vic’s Vision, Mission and Values.
Job Requirements
Overseeing the management of the Welcome Team and Box Office, the Welcome Team Manager gives direction and guidance ensuring high standards are achieved and maintained, in particular relating to:
1. Being a strong advocate for the Young Vic’s anti-racism work, both internally and externally and promoting our Values in Practice for audiences and visitors, ensuring inclusion and access is at the heart of everything we do.
2. Being proactive in identifying challenges for our staff and visitors in their use of the building such that visitors and staff are well looked after and feel safe when on our premises.
3. Ensuring the Young Vic Welcome Team are fully briefed on relevant Operational issues, and giving direction and guidance where necessary and supporting them on ensuring their teams receive relevant training and direction.
Job Responsibilities
1. To ensure the proficient and effective day-to-day management of the Welcome Team and ensure their work reflects the Young Vic’s aim of delivering exceptional customer service to all our customers and visitors.
2. To facilitate the positive relationships between the Company, its co-producers and its audience.
3. To contribute towards the development of ticketing and pricing policy and strategy and to ensure communication and understanding of these within the Welcome Team.
4. To help and inform the Young Vic’s audience, encouraging people to attend performances, and listen to and monitor their responses to our work.
5. To motivate and lead the Welcome Team, with the support of the Deputy Head of Theatre Operations.
6. With the Ticketing Manager, generate income through the development, implementation and monitoring of effective marketing and sales strategies.
