Bury has a wide range of Residential Care Homes who are looking to hire incredible Care and Support workers to help retain independence, wellbeing and the many years of wisdom and the smiles of our loved ones. We know it takes a certain type of person to care; You will need to be kind, considerate and committed to person centred care. You also need to have patience, stamina, resilience and be able to communicate clearly both written and spoken. Daily tasks will focus on ensuring people are supported with day-to-day activities such as dressing, showering, toileting, eating/hydration, movement, medication and coordinating personal belongings. You will proactively encourage independence and wellbeing though socialising such as playing games, singing, crafting and some very light exercise. And you will be there to offer both physical and emotional reassurance. In each residential care home, you are part of a team. You will work alongside and support your peers, many services have a multidisciplinary team of support workers, nursing, hospitality, domestics as well as care leaders and community partners, together you bring security, comfort and companionship to those in residence with you. Requirements Working in care is both emotionally and physically challenging, you need to meet the requirements of the position with a level head and a true understanding of what impact your support gives others.
