Part-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 5) - Supportive & Nurturing Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey? A welcoming and supportive primary school in NN7 is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 5 pupil who requires additional support to access the curriculum and interventions outlined in their EHCP.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is proactive, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs. The pupil does not become physically dysregulated but benefits from consistent guidance and structured support throughout the school day to help them stay engaged in learning.
The Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, ensuring the pupil is able to engage with learning, develop independence, and build confidence in their abilities. Your role will involve:
1. Supporting the child in class, helping them access learning activities and interventions.
2. Encouraging positive learning behaviours and providing gentle guidance.
3. Preparing and adapting resources to suit the pupil's individual needs.
4. Bringing fresh ideas and strategies to support their progress.
5. Building a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil, fostering their confidence and well-being.
6. Working in partnership with school staff and parents to ensure a consistent and nurturing approach.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Be committed to the role and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
2. Be willing to drive to Nether Heyford three days per week.
3. Be proactive in preparing activities and bringing creative, engaging ideas to the classroom.
4. Use their initiative and adapt support strategies to meet the child's needs.
5. Be knowledgeable about ADHD, or willing to learn more about how best to support children with attention and focus challenges.
6. Have experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not essential).
