We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical bias Maintenance Team Leader, based in Bury, Greater Manchester. Competitive salary of 52k and a lot of additional earning potential. This is a permanent role working a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift rotation.
Overview
* Lead the site Engineering teams to deliver production plans, service levels & engineering strategy within quality, safety and cost parameters.
* Implement & deliver the engineering strategy that will develop and drive reliability, improve quality, safety and asset utilisation via all direct & indirect reports.
* Implement best practice maintenance principles for SHE/capital programme, care and maintenance.
* Manage Engineering systems, structures, resource and processes and ways of working.
* Provide input into the engineering planning process that proactively manages and maintains manufacturing assets at site.
* Provide guidance to the engineering stores controller, to ensure critical spares availability, stock control management & effective maintenance planning.
* Responsible for the delivery of engineering KPI’s that complement manufacturing performance, manufacturing KPI’s, and OGSM objectives.
* Recognize best practices from within and outside the business and work with stakeholders in helping to implement these across the business whilst supporting continuous improvement opportunities.
* Coach and develop direct reports. Monitor and improve performance through appraisal, performance management and personal development plans to ensure that their full potential is realized.
* Project management/deliver change initiatives.
* Deputise for the Engineering Manager.
In order to be successful you will need the following skills/experience:
* Mechanical qualifications (time served apprenticeship).
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Experience of operating in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation.
* Experience of leading an engineering shift.
* Experience of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and stock control systems.
* Project management experience.
* Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) would be an advantage.
* Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques e.g. Problem Solving, 5s, SMED.
* Understanding of delivering engineering maintenance strategies, such as TPM.
