Responsibilities of an Aspiring Psychologist:
* Assist with 1:1 and group interventions to improve communication through personalised methods to accommodate each child's individual needs.
* Encourage different ways to communicate and learn specialist communication methods such as Makaton, Sign Language, PECS, and TEACCH.
* Work to significantly improve stutters, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, selective mutism, and speech delay.
* Liaise with the class teacher, therapists, and support staff.
* Monitor and report on students' progress, adjusting support plans as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
Requirements of an Aspiring Psychologist:
* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Desire to work with children with special educational needs.
* Adaptable and proactive approach.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
