An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Nurse to join the Skin Cancer Nursing team. This is an 18-month fixed-term contact; secondment will be considered.
In addition to supporting patients with a Skin Cancer diagnosis, the role will mainly focus on educating patients and providing holistic needs assessment and support.
Main Duties of the Job
To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of care. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Responsibilities
Key Result Areas:
Clinical
1. Take clinical responsibility for patients within your allocated area of work.
2. Continuously assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment, using appropriate programmes/methods of care.
3. Ensure a high delivery of quality care in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, and guidelines. Participate in activities to improve the quality, productivity, and effectiveness of care in response to local and national policies and initiatives.
4. Practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and scope of professional practice and maintain own NMC registration.
5. In the absence of a senior colleague, and following appropriate induction and guidance, co-ordinate the shift and take management responsibility for admissions, transfers, and discharges to the ward or department.
6. Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure an effective flow and communication within the area, including being available for Board and Ward Rounds as required.

2. Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and all levels of staff.
