Social Media Marketing Executive The role: As our Social Media Executive, you’ll lead the transformation of our social media marketing activity, making it more dynamic, customer-centric, and commercially impactful. You’ll engage our target audience through captivating stories that showcase the unique cultural adventures we offer at InsideAsia and InsideJapan, dreaming up creative campaign concepts and refining them into measurable deliverables. Contrary to what you might expect, most travel brands’ social media profiles are boring. We know there’s more to social media marketing than posting pictures of pretty places – and we’re looking for someone who can give our channels the love and attention they deserve. We’re on the hunt for someone brimming with ideas for engaging stories and campaigns that will bring our unique cultural adventure-style of travel to life. Key responsibilities: Content creation: Develop and curate engaging content that resonates with our audience and showcases the unique style of cultural adventure travel InsideAsia and InsideJapan offer. Storytelling : Collaborate with our experts to uncover and share fascinating stories of the people and places we work with, combining dynamic imagery/video with creative copy. Social media management : Manage our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), ensuring consistent and on-brand posts, geared towards digital KPIs (key performance indicators). Community management : Respond to direct messages/comments, fostering conversation, building relationships, passing on leads, and relaying insight about trends or sentiment among our audience. Campaigns : Plan and execute innovative social media campaigns that align with broader marketing and PR activity to drive engagement, brand awareness, and customer acquisition. Test and learn : Employ a test-and-learn approach to different content types (reels, videos, etc.) to identify what resonates best with our audience. Reporting : Report on performance and commercial impact, regularly auditing activity and outcomes, making suggestions for continuous improvement, and benchmarking against competitors. Standards : Help set standards for what brilliant looks like – in terms of both visuals and impact – in our social media activity. Collaboration : Work closely with the Content Marketing Manager and the wider marketing team to ensure alignment and support broader marketing goals. Internal relationships : Build strong internal relationships to leverage expertise and insights from across the company. What we are looking for from you: Experience : Proven experience as a Social Media Executive or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful social media campaigns and day-to-day activity. Skills : Exceptionally proficient in social media platforms, scheduling and reporting tools, and best practices. Strong copywriting, content creation, and storytelling skills. Passion : Genuine enthusiasm for social media and travel and a journalistic curiosity about the cultures and destinations we work with. Customer - centric : Obsessive focus on understanding and engaging our customers. Proactive : Self-motivated and able to take initiative, continuously seeking new opportunities to enhance our social media presence. Collaborative : Excellent team player, able to work effectively with colleagues across different locations and departments and proactive in developing these relationships. Analytical : Comfortable with data analysis and using insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
