We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a secondary school in Leeds. This full-time position starts ASAP, and you will play a vital role in helping students who are struggling to access the curriculum due to behavioural issues.
Requirements:
1. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
2. Relevant experience working with young people, particularly in a behaviour support or pastoral role.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
5. A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
6. Corridor Monitoring: Ensure smooth transitions between classes and maintain a calm environment.
7. Behavioural Support: Respond to poor behaviour in the classroom through calm, measured conversation and support.
8. Inclusion Supervision: Supervise students in inclusion, ensuring they remain focused and engaged in their work.
9. One-to-One Support: Work closely with individual students, providing tailored behavioural and emotional support to help them succeed.
10. Small Group Interventions: Facilitate small group sessions to support students in managing their behaviour and improving their engagement with the curriculum.
