To help fuel their growth they are now seeking to recruit a Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the QS team in Liverpool and help deliver an Employers Agent role. You will run your own projects and assist on a new large scheme valued at £42 million while you learn on the job.
Our client has indicated they would welcome a chartered QS, someone on their way to gaining chartership or someone with a strong desire to do so. They offer an excellent APC Training Programme boasting one of the highest 1st time pass rates in the country and hold Investors in People status.
The opportunity
They are looking for a Graduate QS/Employers Agent to provide comprehensive and efficient cost management on a variety of schemes, along with project management. Within the role, the candidate will develop relationships with key clients and have excellent communication skills with a passion to succeed. Projects vary in size from £4 million new builds up to £42 million mixed-use residential-led developments.
Key responsibilities include;
* The production of feasibility estimates
* Carry out the Employers Agent role
* Cost planning through the RIBA Stages and advising on design options
* Preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis and preparing tender recommendations
* Compiling contract documentation and administering the contract
* Monitoring costs of projects and their progress in relation to the agreed programme, budget and quality standards
The candidate
You will have a professional and positive approach with the ability to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated and proactive in using your own initiative. The ability to build strong relationships and communicate at all levels with all stakeholders is essential, coupled with the future desire to coach and mentor junior members of the team joining later in the year. Having a flexible attitude to work as well as being able to work under pressure and achieve targets, all while providing a high-quality client service whilst contributing and upholding the reputation of the organisation.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate;
* 6+ months of quantity surveying experience in a consultancy or client side organisation
* Degree qualified
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Working experience of real estate projects
