Hyperion Equestrian Centre is a livery, training and competition yard looking for a Level 3 senior equine apprentice who has a keen passion for horses, the outdoors, and who would like to further their training and education within a supportive environment.

The successful candidate can expect that to be working 40 hours per week, spread over 5 days. There is a possibility of reducing this to 30 hours per week, but this will be discussed with the employer. Days and shifts TBA.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Providing essential day-to-day care
* Feeding
* Grooming
* Cleaning equipment
* Handling, preparing, exercising the horses
* Carrying out routine yard duties

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
The successful candidate will undertake 18 months training to complete a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship.
All training will be carried out at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be delivered by Sheldrake Training.
Functional Skills maths and English will form part of the apprenticeship if the successful candidate doesn't already hold a level 4 or above for each subject.

Accommodation and livery for candidate's own horse is available if required. Full training will be provided and there will be riding and competing opportunities for the right candidate.
