School Caretaker – Kings Heath – September
Pay rate: £50-£60 daily
Hours: 25 hours per week – 5 hours per day
A Primary Special Needs School in Kings Heath, Birmingham is seeking a Caretaker for an ongoing role starting September.
The School:
This ‘Outstanding’ SEN School caters for 150 children with a range of special educational needs including cognition and learning difficulties, speech and language, and autistic spectrum conditions. The curriculum is broad, balanced, exciting, and challenging to enrich the lives of pupils. The curriculum is enhanced by using the fantastic school grounds, which includes a forest school and the local community to develop independence skills. All classes are equipped with iPads and other hardware that supports pupils' experiences and ensures they are familiar with the latest technology.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Open and lock the School premises.
2. Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are stored safely and securely at all times.
3. Set and test the security and fire alarm systems.
4. Check overall security of the site, including buildings and boundaries.
5. Respond to a call out as a result of the alarm system being activated.
6. Contribute to the operation of the heating plant and light systems.
7. Contribute to safety processes and cleansing operations, including regular checks of equipment.
8. Read meters as necessary and maintain approved records.
9. Undertake general maintenance and repairs.
10. Be aware of the provisions of any health and safety regulation enforce and bring matters of concern to the attention of the line manager.
11. Contribute to the daily maintenance of hard-core surfaces and other areas, keeping paths, access points, and entrances clear and accessible in all weathers to ensure safe passage.
12. Undertake cleaning duties as required and ensure adequate cleaning supplies are in stock.
13. Undertake general gardening duties around the site.
14. Collect and assemble waste for collection.
