We are excited to advertise anew opportunity within Wakefield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service(CAMHS) for a Senior Mental Health Practitoner. The role is offering anin-reach service into The Croft, a 2-bedded therapeutic childrens residentialhome.
Our primary aim is to provide a safe, trauma-informed and therapeuticenvironment from which young people in our care can develop both physically andpsychologically; can work on their relationship skills, which is key in makingprogress in their psychological development; can start to recover fromdevelopmental traumas and be provided with the opportunity to enjoy a level ofsettlement that might otherwise have been denied to them.
You will be offering riskassessment and care planning to support young people who reside in The Croft,this will also support the staff members who are based there. You will also beresponsible for conducting assessments to deem appropriateness of The Croftbeing a suitable residential home.
You would be part of theEnhanced Outreach Team (EOT) which is a team that primarily work with LookedAfter Children.
The Croft is based in theAckworth area of Wakefield and the role requires regular travel to this area.

Main duties of the job
-Attend team meetings and development sessions.
-Offer clinical supervision to colleagues.
-Offer in-reach support to The Croft and supportthe young people that reside there and staff who are based there.
-Offer therapeutic intervention to young peopleand the network.
-Offering risk assessments and creating careplans which are individualised for the young person you are working with.
Completingassessments to deem appropriateness for The Croft.

To provider supervisionand teaching to all other disciplines within CAMHS and to deputise as agreedfor the team leader.

Special Knowledge and Skills.

Experience
* Experience of delivering training to others.
* Substantial post qualification experience, some of which must be working with Children, young people and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting.
* Experience of working in different cultural contexts.

* Multidisciplinary team working.
* Inter agency liaison and consultation.
* Experience of providing highly specialist advice and supervision to other professionals.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance for working with children, young people, mental health and safeguarding.
* Evidence of advanced clinical or therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health.
* Extensive experience in assessment and risk management and ability to implement evidence based practice.

Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification, e.g. nursing, or other professional allied to medicine.
* Post qualification training in identified portfolio, e.g. LD. LAC, eating disorder.
* Dip SW or relevant mental health profession.
* A teaching and assessing qualification.
* Membership of professional body.
* Post graduate qualification in mental health (e.g. CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling).
* Formal management or supervisory qualification.
