The Recruitment Group are working in partnership with an established company who have over 70 years’ experience in metal pressing & press tool making. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tool Maker to join their team. As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and repairing precision tools and equipment used in production processes. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, ensuring tools and machinery are built to exact specifications to ensure efficiency and accuracy in their operations.

Responsibilities:
Design, construct, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce tools and tooling systems.
Set up, operate, and maintain precision machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Manual and CNC experience is beneficial for this position
Inspect and measure completed tools and components using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure production continuity.
Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and other production staff to ensure tools meet design requirements and quality standards.
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on tooling equipment to ensure optimum performance.
Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures throughout the production process.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Tool Maker or in a similar manufacturing role.
Proficiency in using machining tools and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, CAD/CAM systems, and tool design.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and height gauges.
Good knowledge of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, and their appropriate applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
