This is an exciting opportunity to support and enhance research at a leading research-intensive university. You will work closely with both academics, senior leadership and experts in the professional services to deliver an excellent outcome for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2029; and you will provide expert practitioner support to the short-, medium-, and long-term planning of research excellence to support the University in striving to undertake world-leading research with global impacts.
The Research Planning Manager will have a lead role in the operational management of the University’s annual research planning, and for the development, implementation, and management of aspects of the University’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission including data handling and analysis. The postholder will also work closely with R&IS Research Impact, and the RSDMs, on aspects of research planning and REF. The RPM will also provide policy advice and guidance on the intricacies of the assessment framework to academic colleagues and professional services staff, and be a central point of information for queries from academic and administrative staff. The holder will also maintain the project plan and ensure that objectives are communicated well, and milestones are met.
