Breast Care Support Nurse, hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 nurse to join the breast care nurse specialist working at both the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital. This post is for a 1 year fixed post.
Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as a member of the multi-disciplinary team whose aim is to achieve a comprehensive service for women who have or fear they have breast cancer, that present through the symptomatic clinic and the NHS breast screening programme. The post holder will work closely with the CNS in providing on-going support and advice for women with diagnosed breast cancer. An up-to-date knowledge of advances in treatments and care of patients with breast cancer will be maintained and practice will be underpinned with research and evaluated by audit. The role involves a commitment to participating in and development of educational programmes within the trust. The post holder has a responsibility to support the service manager in the development of corporate objectives.
