Purpose of the Job: We are recruiting for a Site Buyer to support the site teams with indirect purchases from sourcing of vendors to contract execution and supplier management. The Site Buyer will manage the procurement of indirect goods and services for the UK Plants, for the assigned spend categories ensuring compliance with requested specifications, local legislation, Synthomer SHE standards, Synthomer Sustainable Procurement Policy, Synthomer Ethic Code and Core Values. There is a requirement to deliver best value procurement, incorporating cost savings, quality, and build supplier relationships. Engagement with local stakeholders to support the site with all activities connected to Indirect Procurement and partnership working with Engineering Teams. Main Accountabilities: Manage the procurement of indirect goods and services for the assigned Spend Categories for the plant, providing project delivery in due time-based on-site needs. Manage spend in co-operation with local stakeholders - evaluating a range of quotations/vendors to obtain better economic conditions and achieve company targets. Benchmark the assigned Spend Category at local level and in co-operation with Global Category Manager. Co-operate and support other members of Procurement Department within EU for the purchase of other Categories. Manage supplier relationships and actively support stakeholders in case of complaints, adopt and promote a preferred supplier’s approach. Manage transactional activity through SAP system and Ariba, coordinate the whole procurement process with other impacted functions. Participate in local and/or group projects, taking into account the various functional requirements and verifying the economic impact. Be an active team player within the wider Procurement EMEA Team to better achieve Group targets through an international cooperating network. Ensure accomplishment of all business activities in line with relevant SHE-regulations to achieve SHE-compliance in accordance with internal, contractual, and legal regulations. Be pro-active versus innovation and new market technology opportunities. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate purchasing, finance/accounts experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment. Strong Capex and Engineering Procurement experience. Commercial acumen, ability to understand and neotiat on terms and conditions of purchase. Transactional purchasing understanding and experience (PR to PO conversion, Invoice Query Resolution) Excellent communication and negotiation skills – internal customer focused. Education: Diploma or Degree Experience: 5 years in similar position within Engineering/Manufacturing, with CAPEX involvement. Normal place of work: Stallingborough, UK, fixed hybrid working pattern.
