DeGould is looking for an outstanding Mechatronics Engineer to join our expanding team and work on the development of new automotive inspection systems. As a Mechatronics Engineer at DeGould, you will be working closely with the product development team to design new products from concept to prototyping, production, and deployment. DeGould is looking for someone with expertise in mechanical assemblies, actuators, robotics, and optical engineering. The Mechatronics Engineer needs to understand customer requirements and how to translate them into clear design specifications. They are comfortable and familiar working with KPIs, such as On Time Delivery, direct material costs, manufacturing cost, and applied labour time, and adhering to the deployment timeline. They should also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the principles of Design for Manufacture and Assembly, and have a good understanding and appreciation of the impact of design decisions across a product's value chain and life cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain electrical/mechanical designs and documentation using CAD.
* Perform computer simulations and experiments to optimise the optical system configuration.
* Specify and design electrical/mechanical components.
* Design in compliance with international standards (e.g., UL/CE).
* Design for manufacture, assembly, and installation.
* Review and propose improvements to electrical/mechanical drawings.
* Assist in the development of physical prototypes for testing.
* Conduct tests to improve system performance.
* Liaise with stakeholders to ensure alignment between teams.
* Prepare test reports, design specification documents, and operating manuals.
* Keep abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
* Undertake any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required to fulfil DeGould’s commitments to customers and achieve the overall objectives of the business.
About You:
Essential Skills
* BEng or MEng Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or able to demonstrate equivalent skillset.
* Outstanding CAD skills, preferably SolidWorks.
* Industrial work experience would be beneficial.
* Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
* Familiarity with Product Data Management principles and practices.
* Familiarity with design analysis tools such as FMEA.
* Ability to work in a fast-moving, dynamic scale-up.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
