Principal Engineer - Body Structures

We are currently working with a world-class specialist vehicle manufacturer developing a full range of EV Vehicles. We are recruiting for a Principal Engineer - Body Structures. The main responsibilities of this role will be to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of concepts/schemes.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Lead Engineer, Body & Closures in all day-to-day activities.
2. Utilize Catia to lead the development of the 3D models for body structures.
3. Engineering BoM development, cost/weight pack development, and weight BoM management.
4. Design surface (CAS) feasibility 'FC' checks and provide feasibility advice & guidance.
5. Engineering hard-point generation.
6. Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting of findings.
7. Interface with cross-functional teams (Package, Analysis, Manufacturing, DVA, etc.) & implement recommendations to create a right first-time release.
8. Store and release data into TCUA and PLM.
Qualifications:
1. A relevant engineering qualification with proven experience in the design of body structures.
2. Proven experience in automotive or motorsport applications as part of an OEM, Tier 1, or consultancy, with the ability to use CAD (Catia).
3. Experience in the complete vehicle development cycle for body structures.
