This individual will be protecting and supporting the local community and carrying out enforcement of relevant environmental crime and regulation as necessary on the streets of Soho. You will be employed to aid and assist (as well as protect) the customers in a helpful and professional manner. Preventing any threat to any tenant or other members of the public and any unauthorised persons entering restricted parts of the premises at any time. Ensuring that all personnel can go about their business in a safe and friendly environment Information: Position: Security Officer Location: Soho, London Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour Hours: Average 56 hours per week Shifts: 3 Days, 3 Nights, 3 Off Job Requirements: SIA Door Supervisor Licence is required CCTV Licence would be a bonus Security/patrol/street warden experience is required Excellent communication both written & verbal Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site Deterring anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity Provide a visible security contact for customers and staff Liaising with the Police and store management To always be vigilant and the ability to and think on your feet in fast paced situations Place out tables, chairs, signage, and other physical security measures on behalf of the Seven Dials Estate which involve manual handling. This position involves external patrolling throughout the shift. Be able to stand/walk for extended periods when asked Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested Job Duties & Responsibilities: Doors to be checked & ensure they are secure Dealing with shop lifters, petty theft, rough sleepers and drug users around the estate whilst deterring anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity To support the council, its partners and the Police to make the area safe from environmental crime, nuisance and antisocial behaviour To patrol around agreed routes providing a uniform presence to create and maintain an attractive environment for the people who live, work, shop and visit the area Be the key customer contact for all daily operational security & Health and Safety related matters across the contract, liaising with the Police and estate management To patrol around the area and regularly checking known problematic areas/hot spots to provide support, advice, reassurance and acting as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Seven Dials community to reduce environmental crime Record all checks in the DOB & report any issues to the Duty Shift Manager Prevent events leading to crime and report any possible breaches to the physical/technical security of the premises Prevent any threat to any tenant or other members of the public and any unauthorised persons entering restricted parts of the premises at any time. Uphold prestige of the customer by dealing professionally with people and uphold the customers/companies’ image & reputation by maintaining a first-class appearance Switch off any unnecessary electricity, water or gas, book on & off duty at the beginning & end of your shift, make check calls to schedule and maintain the CIS logbook accurately Prevent the events that lead to accidents/personal injury by reporting health & safety hazards to the manager Visit all retail and empty units daily to check for issues, damages, leaks etc. Report all damage, graffiti, leaks or other issues to the manager.
