Job Title: Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Site location: Manchester Central
Responsible to: Project Director
Purpose of the role: Working as a key member of the team, you will be provided with the autonomy to design Electrical services in many sectors of the industry and be client facing, representing the Company.
Client brief: Our client is a well-established leading engineering and environmental consultancy in Building Services with offices throughout the UK and around the globe. Their welcoming and diverse team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in Manchester, across the UK and around the world. From sustainability-focused offices and commercial premises to cutting-edge healthcare facilities and from award-winning retail developments to major new residential communities, you’ll have the opportunity to play a major role in delivering schemes across a huge range of sectors.

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £45,000 per annum or above (depending on experience)
Holidays: 26 days + Bank Holidays rising to 31 days with loyalty days + BH
Hybrid: Yes, Possible hybrid working of 3 days in the office – 2 days at home

To fulfil this role, you will need: to be degree qualified and able to demonstrate suitable design experience in the building services sector (preferably across a variety of sectors) and be an effective communicator, both verbally and in the production of reports and specifications.
Key requirements:
1. You will have experience in using recognised design software tools such as REVITT and ideally have exposure to MagiCAD
2. Have great communication skills that can adapt both to external parties and clients but also within the team
3. Understand project needs and be able to manage the full delivery
4. You will have recognised qualifications in Electrical services design and either be working towards Chartered Status, or have an interest in doing so
5. Be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team in support to deliver projects
6. Experience of people management is desirable
7. Future flexibility will be needed for regular co-operation, travel and inter-office working
8. In house expertise for Electrical enquiries
9. Our client produces its projects in the 3D environment and are rolling out StabiCAD design tool across all offices. While a detailed knowledge of this software is not essential (training will be provided) an awareness of working in a 3D environment is, as is a knowledge of cable sizing and lighting design software.
