(Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements)

Overview of project/role
Our Business Services Function (BSF) provides support across TfL via 12 delivery areas, and sits at the heart of our organisation, underpinning the effective running of our front-line services.
Our 12 functions provide critical HR and Finance transactional services to internal colleagues, providing data and reporting that allows us to run our business, supporting over 28,000 workers in decision making and forward planning.
We’re now looking for a Data Analyst to join our busy team.
You’ll be responsible for preparing robust analysis and developing recommendations for improving efficiency and performance. You’ll complete statutory reporting requirements and more complex data & reporting requests, using and maintaining warehouse data, ERP data, and externally provided data sources, to help solve organizational problems. You’ll use technology and data analytics to share important business information within TfL.
You’ll have some stakeholder management responsibilities and will deal with some smaller projects, operating with the business area to provide analytical support and insight, supporting new initiatives, helping to identify risks and opportunities and explaining complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
Key Accountabilities
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Delivering and generating progress and quality reports to customers
* Performing quality assurance checks on reports
* Monitoring and maintaining data analytics platforms
* Supporting business decision-making by generating reports using warehouse data
* Analysing trends, products, markets to build warehouse data
* Developing and creating reporting systems to provide important information for decision making
* Improving and evaluating business intelligence systems
* Translating business needs into technical specifications
* Troubleshooting on business intelligence systems
* Managing relationships with key stakeholders for projects
* Be a key, visible point of contact for the business and overcome silo working through a pooling and partnering approach
* Deliver regular reports to the business, TfL Board members and stakeholders on performance and safety issues including business’s progress towards future targets

Knowledge
* Use of SAP and other SAP Solutions including Business Objects and Success Factors (Essential)
* Strong knowledge of data analysis and visualization (Essential)
* Strong knowledge of ETL and data modeling (Highly desirable)
* Degree level qualifications in computer science, or a similar area of study (Desirable)
* Microsoft PowerBI Certificated (Desirable)
Experience
* Experience in data analysis (Essential)
* Experience with designing and building reporting applications (PowerBI, SAC) (Essential)
* Experience with large data sets, dimensional modeling (Essential)
* Experience with programming and scripting languages (VBA, M, DAX) (Highly desirable)
* Experience with business intelligence tools (PowerBI) (Highly desirable)
* Experience with writing complex queries (Desirable)
