Purpose of Role: Under the guidance of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Fabrication Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting facility operations by ensuring safety, precision machining, and high-quality results in the fabrication department. Key responsibilities include hydro pressure testing, setting up and operating various machines, assisting with material preparation for fabrication and welding, and performing other related tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Embody and adhere to Weir Group Success Values and Behaviors. Adhere strictly to safety standards and equipment usage protocols.
2. Interpret engineering drawings and work orders accurately with strong attention to detail.
3. Perform hydro pressure testing, utilize various tools and equipment.
4. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
5. Willingness to learn and cross-train in machining tasks. Ability to do afternoon shift.
6. Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Qualification and Education:
7. High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of related experience in machining/manufacturing.
8. Knowledge of Microsoft Office & basic computer skills is an asset.
9. Experience with machining or steel industry machinery. Familiarity with hydro pressure testing procedures.
10. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
11. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail and commitment to safety.
12. Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.

Compensation : CAD 36-40 per hour.
