Group Financial Controller – No. 1 in Finance – Growing SME Business

Group Financial Controller - Core Responsibilities:
1. Financial Compliance: Ensure all regulatory and internal financial standards are met.
2. Budgeting & Reporting: Assist with budgets, analyse variances, and encourage cost savings.
3. Team Leadership: Manage a team of three finance professionals, promoting continuous improvement.
4. Financial Reporting: Prepare P&L statements, balance sheets, management accounts, and forecasts.
5. Board Presentations: Present financial data and insights to support strategic decision-making.
6. Cash Flow Management: Ensure cash flow stability and monitor daily financial activities.
7. Project Analysis: Generate Work In Progress (WIP) and Profit & Loss (P&L) analyses for profitability tracking.
8. Accounting Systems: Oversee the company’s financial software systems.
9. Stakeholder Management: Maintain relationships with accountants, banks, and other key partners.
10. Debt Management & Compliance: Oversee debt reporting and ensure timely compliance submissions, VAT, PAYE etc.
Group Financial Controller - Qualifications & Skills:
1. Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc.)
2. 5 years + experience in a similar financial controller role
3. Proficient in accountancy software and advanced MS Excel
4. Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards and industry-leading practices
5. Proven team management and excellent analytical skills
