The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) is a renowned institution committed to advancing nursing education, science, and clinical practice innovations. We are dedicated to health equity, social justice, and preparing nurse leaders, scholars, clinical experts and innovators who strive to promote nurse-led models of care, health equity and transformative innovations and improvements to systems that enhance health outcomes of patients and teams. We are currently seeking applications for an experienced Doctorally-Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) with demonstrated leadership and a record of evidenced-based practice innovation to join the faculty of our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Candidate preference will be given to those that hold National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner and have a record of faculty service, though candidates with Executive Leadership skills will be considered. The primary responsibilities of this role include teaching core DNP courses and mentoring DNP students. The courses are taught in a distance-based (online) format that includes on-campus activities once per semester. Well-qualified applicants will demonstrate a record of success in graduate nursing education and evidence of leadership, advocacy efforts, and quality improvement implementation or evaluation projects. Two to three years of experience as a certified APRN that includes successful clinical teaching is recommended. Candidates must show evidence of a developed program of scholarship, which encompasses not only peer-reviewed publications but may also include conference presentations, development of practice guidelines, and implementation of quality improvement projects. Additionally, candidates must possess a proven track record in mentoring and collaborating with adult learners, specifically in advising DNP students who are completing quality improvement or health policy projects. Faculty appointment for this position will be made at the Full-time Assistant, Associate Professor or Professor level on Track II (a non-tenure earning practice/clinical track) with the expectation that teaching could span across the academic programs at DUSON.
