The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join JFD. The successful candidate will initially work with the Fathom product line, supporting the commercial and defence diving industries. Some examples of the exciting products you’ll get to work with are: Diving systems - Gas analysis, diver digital communications and integrated diving bell control systems. Hyperbaric systems – Instrumentation and sensors including gas analysis, communications, video and critical systems monitoring. Battery systems – Emergency battery power for critical life support equipment. You will provide engineering design solutions and through life engineering support within the Electrical Controls & Instrumentation team. Your role will vary from supporting new product design to meet client or internal specifications through to supporting an existing client’s request to upgrade or change equipment in the field. Key Accountabilities Support engineering design input to new products and provide support to the existing product range by answering queries and providing engineering solutions. Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and create part numbers and bill of materials. Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly. instructions, test procedures, certification, and reports. Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation. Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes. Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required. Compliance to internal and external standards & regulations. Skills, Experience and Qualifications Electrical / Electronic / Manufacturing Engineering Degree. Knowledge of electrical design and manufacturing of instrumentation systems. Experience in 2D /3D drafting (Autocad, Solidworks or similar). Preparation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation including specifications and drawings. Co-ordinate with cross functional teams including mechanical engineers. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques Knowledge of design standards. Demonstrated experience in an Electrical Project Engineering role. Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages. Previous diving or subsea equipment design experience would be advantageous. Any relevant diving qualifications would be advantageous. Ability to obtain SC level security clearance essential.
