Theatres at County consists of a suite of 7 theatres, a modular unit and an ambulatory unit which cover many different specialities. Working days Monday to Saturday for elective theatres with 24hr cover for anaesthetic support.
We require enthusiastic and flexible Band 5's Theatre Practitioners to join our team in theatres at County Hospital.
Previous experience in theatres (e.g. Orthopaedics, Vascular, Gynae and Urology) would be an advantage but not essential. A genuine interest in operating theatres and surgery is required. You will need to be a team player with good communication skills and an ability to adapt to new situations with a strong focus on providing excellent quality patient care within the Theatre environment.

Main duties of the job
The post will predominantly be based in the Theatre Department at the County Hospital including the modular unit and the ambulatory unit; however, there may be a requirement to work in other clinical areas of the Trust including the Royal Stoke Hospital.
Main duties include:
* The assessment of patient needs, the development of programs of care, and for the implementation and evaluation of these programs.
* Carry out all relevant forms of care.
* Provide skilled assistance within the Operating Department environment and continue to develop enhanced surgical, anaesthetic, or recovery skills related to the specialty, commensurate with your level of competence.
* Supervise and educate junior colleagues.
* Act as a role model to students and Clinical Support Workers.
* Take charge of a specific theatre when rostered and assessed to be competent.
* Present a positive, professional image of the organization and the theatre team.
