About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Brother’s European headquarters in Manchester for a dynamic and driven Technical Product Owner to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will act as the translator between business needs and technical solutions, bridging the gap between stakeholders and development teams. You will lead the charge in delivering innovative digital products and ensuring alignment with business goals through your expertise in eCommerce, digital marketing, and web system design.
Main Tasks
1. Bridge business and IT, collaborating with analysts, developers, and senior stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and drive Agile delivery.
2. Own, define and prioritise technical requirements within the product backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals and enhancing customer journeys.
3. Provide technical validation, assess impact, and drive reporting and governance for transparency and progress tracking.
4. Mentor teams, ensuring technical and product alignment with strong ownership.
5. Conduct change impact analysis, recommending actionable solutions and delivering measurable results through collaboration, governance, and innovation.
6. Lead development and optimisation of Web CMS and Commerce systems, ensuring smooth integrations and adherence to technical standards.
7. Collaborate with developers, 3rd party vendors, and architects to ensure technical feasibility of solutions, including Web APIs, system design and cloud-based infrastructure.
8. Implement governance processes to provide transparency in tracking progress, reporting, and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
About you
Requirements:
* A proactive leader with a strong grasp of technical and product ownership.
* Experience in mentoring Product Owners or technical teams.
* Knowledge of eCommerce and digital marketing strategies.
* Demonstrable expertise in technical validation and managing cross-functional teams.
* Strong ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
* A solid understanding of modern system design principles, including WEB APIS, cloud infrastructure and commerce workflows.
* Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, driving measurable business outcomes through innovation and collaboration.
* Proficiency in vendor management, including evaluating third-party solutions and ensuring vendor alignment with project goals and timelines.
* Strong understanding of web system design, integrations, and architecture.
* Proven knowledge of software delivery lifecycles, Agile processes, and modern development practices.
* Hands-on experience with platforms such as: Content Management Systems (e.g., Sitecore), eCommerce platforms, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
* Familiarity with Azure and cloud-based infrastructure.
* Understanding of commerce workflows and stakeholder interactions.
* Skilled in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and identifying actionable solutions.
* Ability to deliver non-technical support such as stakeholder training, requirement gathering, and prioritisation.
* Strong experience in reporting and governance for project tracking and transparency.
* Knowledge of system design basics, including client-server models, microservices and communication methods (e.g., WEB APIS, data pipelines).
* Experience working with cross-functional or culturally diverse teams, with an understanding of global or regional market dynamics.
* Ability to assess technical solutions for feasibility, scalability and alignment with business goals.
