Chief Executive Officer
West of Scotland Housing Association
Glasgow/Hybrid
Job Description
Are you an experienced and values-driven leader who is passionate about making a positive impact on communities? West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to guide the organisation through its next phase of growth and development.
For nearly 60 years, WSHA has been more than just a housing provider. We pride ourselves on putting our customers at the heart of everything we do, taking a community-focused and innovative approach to improving their lives. Our mission is to deliver high-quality homes and services that help individuals and communities thrive. With over 4,300 homes across Glasgow, Lanarkshire, and Ayrshire, we are financially strong, forward-thinking, and committed to the highest possible level of service. Our strategic plans include the development of 220 new homes in the next four years, alongside continuing to deliver the services managed by our charitable subsidiary, Willowacre Trust, and our commercial arm, Westscot Living.
As Chief Executive, you will report to the Board and lead the WSHA team in delivering outstanding services to our tenants while maintaining and enhancing the financial viability and governance of the organisation. You will play a key role in engaging and developing relationships with tenants, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring WSHA’s vision and values are reflected in everything we do.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the strategic direction and development of WSHA in line with Board policies and the Scottish Housing Regulator requirements.
* Build effective working relationships with the Board
* Lead the Corporate Management Team in delivering WSHA’s objectives and meeting performance targets.
* Oversee the activities of our subsidiaries, Willowacre Trust and Westscot Living, ensuring alignment with WSHA’s mission.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
* Drive financial sustainability, value for money, and operational excellence.
* Champion health and safety, risk management, and diversity within the organisation.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a track record of successfully managing change and delivering high performance within a complex organisation. You will be an excellent communicator with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, able to inspire and engage colleagues, tenants, and partners alike. Direct RSL experience is valuable but not a prerequisite for application; candidates who can evidence transferability from other sectors will be considered.
If you are excited by the opportunity to lead a financially robust and highly regarded housing association with a strong social purpose, we would love to hear from you.
For a confidential discussion about the process, please contact Nigel Fortnum or David Currie at Aspen People on 0141 212 7555.
Join us at WSHA and help shape the future of housing and community support across the West of Scotland.
Closing date is Monday 11th November 2024.
