Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable & Expense, this role is to work as part of the Accounts Payable & Expense team to provide a quality service to all our branches and suppliers, ensuring that all relevant controls are maintained
The Role
• To ensure that all accounts payable processes are carried out in an accurate, timely and efficient
manner. This includes registering / processing of invoices, credit notes, reconciling statements
and that the regular payment runs for the UK and Overseas are processed in accordance with
the schedule.
• To perform the monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet control accounts.
• To manage the authorisation rules as dictated by Council and ensure that the systems authorities
appropriately reflect these rules.
• To maintain the accounts payable elements of Workday ensuring a high class service to the
Corporation, Overseas and our suppliers. This includes ensuring all supplier banking details are
maintained correctly, payment types are correct and appropriate bank templates are created
• To perform all expense processes to ensure that they are carried out in an accurate, timely and
efficient manner. This includes ensuring that the regular payment runs for the UK and Overseas
are processed in a timely manner and includes working with procurement / tax to determine any
system rules required within Workday.
• To ensure controls are maintained to facilitate accurate, timely and efficient processing.
• To perform the review and update of all procedure manuals to ensure that they are appropriate
and fit for purpose and where appropriate published and made available to employees across the
corporation
• To ensure, where necessary that local taxes are recorded appropriately, deducted from invoices,
reconciles and paid in a timely manner. Ensuring no detriment to the Lloyd's brand.
• Maintain all systems to the relevant standard, ensuring any upgrades are fully tested
• Train and provide assistance where required to Corporation departments and branches
• Ability to provide support across other Finance Operations teams as required

• Understand business requirements with ability to analyse and generate pragmatic solutions.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise to meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Work independently within agreed procedures and practices.
Knowledge
• Should either be studying towards a recognised Accounting qualification or have a qualification
by experience
Experience
• Implementing of new processes and systems.
• Interest in developing an in-depth understanding of the data, processes, and systems as they
relate to the role.
• Experience of working to multiple fixed deadlines.
• Experience of stakeholder engagement.
