Our network of partnership schools trust and our market expertise means we have a consistent flow of jobs available all year round.Your new roleCover supervisors play a crucial role in supporting schools during critical periods by offering general teaching assistance when regular staff members are absent. The duration of these roles may vary, and many temporary positions serve as potential pathways to more permanent teaching opportunities. As a Hays Cover supervisor, you can pick and choose your days and decline a job which isn’t right for you. You can choose to work for us full-time, part-time or flexibly.Your roles and responsibilities include:
1. Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of teachers, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
2. Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials across various subjects and grade levels.
3. Engage students in learning activities, answer questions, and provide support during the lesson.
4. Maintain discipline and uphold school policies while promoting a positive classroom atmosphere.
5. Report back to regular teachers on students' behaviour, progress, and any concerns during the cover period.
What you’ll need to succeed
6. A minimum of 30 days UK experience as a cover supervisor in classroom settings within the last 2 years
7. Previous experience working with students or in a school environment is advantageous.
8. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students and staff.
9. The ability to follow instructions, manage classroom dynamics, and handle unexpected situations with flexibility.
