Our website is one of the most important entry points to our brand – it has a critical role to play in engaging our customers, explaining why we are different to the high street banks, driving people to our key services such as mobile and internet banking, aiding them to consider and apply to our range of products and providing help and support. We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Digital Platforms & SEO team where we define and create member-focused experiences across all digital products. You’ll support the production of exemplary online experiences that truly differentiate Nationwide and drive our Digital society aspirations and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams of Content Designers, Product Designers and Digital Performance Managers creating experiences and transforming products and services that have a positive impact on our members, colleagues and business. You’ll have contracted hours and a contracted location, but we’re always happy to support flexible working wherever we can. The team co-ordinates two days together in the office to ensure we’re collaborating as much as possible but we will always strive to find a way that works for everyone. At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here. As part of our team you will be working closely with our product and business areas to keep our online content up to date and accurate, with a focus on our response to market movement and Bank of England base rate changes. This will involve updating interest rates and product details across our savings, mortgages and loans so that our products remain competitive and provide value for our customers. These updates will cover our .co.uk, Internet Bank and Mobile banking app platforms. You will be required to work outside of core office hours on a regular basis, perhaps one to two times a week, updating our online content and products. You will be eligible for overtime on these occasions. Due to the nature of re-price work, there may be some weeks where you’re really busy, and others where your work is quieter. During quieter periods, you’ll be asked to support our other squads to deliver value elsewhere across our digital estate. To be successful at this role you’ll have: Experience working with SiteCore’s content management system, and proficiency in a variety of front-end technologies – HTML, CSS, Javascript Good understanding of web development best practices and a good understanding of web usability best practices Ideally experience of working in the consumer retail/banking space, supported by a portfolio of CMS production work Demonstrable ability to translate user needs and key business objectives into production or technical solutions that result in digital experiences that communicate effectively and engagingly with customers The ability to work well in a cross-functional, multi-discipline environment with good influencing and communication skills Solid planning and organisational skills and ability to manage and own multiple competing deliverables A confident manner with internal clients; be thoughtful, measured and persuasive Our Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together. You can strengthen your application by showing the behaviours that resonate with you, and how you might have already demonstrated these.
