Job title: Catering Assistant Location: Derwentside Immigration Removal Centre Working Hours / Contract Type Full time - 40 hours per week, 4 day shifts of 08:30 - 18:30 Covering 1 weekend in 3. Salary: £25,462.50 PA Derwentside Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) is a fully contained residential centre housing adult women. We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service and we are looking to recruit for Catering Assistants to join us. In this role you will ensure all catering deliveries are checked put away, stock rotated, and all catering store areas are kept clean and tidy. This will include assisting with stock management within the shop area. You will also assist the Chef in the preparation of the daily menu and general running of the kitchen area. Key Accountabilities: To assist the chef in the daily production of food maintaining a high standard of food production service and hygiene To always maintain the preparation and work areas in a clean and hygienic condition and the thorough cleaning of these areas, including equipment after each service. To escort deliveries into and out of the Centre. To check deliveries against purchase orders and highlight any problems. To action the return of goods with Suppliers and maintain accurate records. To issue stock as required in accordance with Company Procedures. To deal with stock invoice queries. To monitor stock movement within the catering department. To assist with catering stock takes. To maintain COSHH Data Sheets for items within the Centre Store. To assist with administration duties. Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules. To assist the catering manager in all aspects of running the kitchen What you will need: Basic computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook applications. Strong interpersonal skills. Problem solving skills. Basic understanding of risk and conflict management. Supervisory skills.
