Overview
Our client is a global infrastructure business with operations in over 80 countries, delivering landmark projects in transportation, energy, and water management. With an annual turnover exceeding €16 billion and a team of 10,000+ employees, they are recognized for their innovation, sustainability, and excellence in complex engineering challenges.
The company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join a transformative £3bn infrastructure project in Manchester, offering the chance to shape a significant Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal advice and oversight on all contractual and regulatory matters related to the project.
2. Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and operational requirements under NEC4 contracts.
3. Manage stakeholder relationships, including joint venture (JV) partners, subcontractors, and government authorities.
4. Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with the project.
5. Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts, including procurement, construction, and operational agreements.
6. Support dispute resolution and claims management in collaboration with the team.
7. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations to provide strategic legal support.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Extensive experience providing legal counsel on major infrastructure projects, particularly within PPP/NEC4 contract frameworks.
2. Qualifications: Law degree, a qualification as a solicitor is a plus (UK or equivalent jurisdiction).
3. Skills: Strong contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and risk management expertise.
4. Profile: Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder structures and work effectively in high-pressure environments.
