We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Business Manager to join our primary school within the Wade Deacon Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial, administrative, and operational management of the school, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while supporting the school's leadership team in achieving its strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: Prepare and manage the school’s budget, ensuring effective use of resources. Monitor and report on financial performance, providing advice and guidance to the senior leadership team. Oversee procurement and manage contracts, ensuring value for money. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies. Human Resources Management: Support with recruitment, induction, and ongoing professional development for staff. Manage payroll, pensions, and other HR-related processes. Ensure adherence to employment policies and regulations. Administration & Operations: Oversee the administrative functions of the school, including the management of school records and communications. Supervise and manage the school’s premises, including health and safety compliance and maintenance schedules. Ensure effective management of school facilities and resources, including IT systems and equipment. Strategic Planning & Development: Contribute to the development of the school’s long-term strategy in collaboration with the leadership team. Support school improvement plans, ensuring financial resources are aligned with the school’s goals. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure the school complies with all relevant policies, regulations, and legislation. Monitor and manage risk, including health and safety, safeguarding, and insurance requirements. Skills and Experience Required: A relevant qualification in business management, finance, or a related field Proven experience in school business management, or a similar administrative role, ideally within a primary school or educational setting. Strong financial management and budgeting skills. Knowledge of HR processes, health and safety regulations, and school governance. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, governors, and external partners. Proficiency in IT systems Personal Qualities: Strong leadership and management skills. Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
