Do you have an electrical engineering background? Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can continue to grow and develop your electrical expertise and gain an insight into a new industry? Are you looking for a permanent role?
About the role
We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join one of our shift teams on site at our mill in Skelmersdale. Focused on safety you will be supporting the shift team in all electrical and instrumentation areas to help manufacture products according to fixed specifications and standard operating procedures.
What you will do
You will have engineering responsibility for maintaining and improving the day-to-day operational efficiency of the paper machine, by ensuring regular maintenance is carried out on electrical, instrument and process equipment.
We work to a continuous improvement methodology, so you will need to be solutions-focused and have worked previously to resolve issues using a root cause analysis approach. You will be a key member of the shift team working closely with colleagues to ensure production runs smoothly, coaching colleagues where required, reporting any faults, finding solutions and 'fixing for good'.
When on night shift, you will be the electrical expert on site, and during the day shifts you will be working closely with the day technical support team, including involvement in meetings and scheduled maintenance activities.
Meeting deadlines through planning and organizing your own work, completing all required documentation, as well as monitoring impact of work undertaken and taking responsibility for your work are all key attributes we are looking for.
Who are you?
