The successful candidate will have excellent comprehension, organization, and analytical skills, a good understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work with clinical data in a meticulous, methodical, and accurate way. Good computer and communication skills are also required.
Experience of working in a similar environment would be advantageous but is not necessary as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
To improve the medicines management services through a systematic and coordinated programme of quality improvement; assist in the optimization of prescribing and improve the experience and health outcomes for patients, wherever medicines are involved.
Job responsibilities
* Actively support patients to ensure effective medicines use and review.
* Actively manage Practice systems to improve quality, safety, waste, and satisfaction.
* Develop and implement Practice Policies and Procedures with reference to prescribing and medicines management, with the GP Lead.
* Work with clinicians and patients to effect change.
* Provide a professional service to patients and maintain a friendly and understanding approach, even at times of provocation and pressure.
* Recognize where to seek professional direction and where administrative procedures may be applied.
* Participate, as appropriate for the role, towards achievement of PCN DES, QOF, and other Enhanced Services.
* Take responsibility for daily events and be aware of daily priorities.
* Use one's own initiative to suggest solutions to organizational problems.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BTEC in pharmaceutical science or NVQ Level 3 supported by appropriate underpinning knowledge e.g. BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, NPA or equivalent qualification.
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Appropriate accredited technician checking qualification e.g. Regional Scheme, Buttercups or equivalent for Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians.
Experience
* Evidence of relevant specialist continuing professional development.
* Demonstrable and proven organizational capability in a complex environment.
* Working in a confidential environment.
* Trained in the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
* Knowledge of the Primary Care environment.
* Awareness of Data Protection Act.
* Working in a GP Practice.
