Data Analyst - Water Asset Management
The RPS Water Consultancy business is currently looking to appoint a Data Analyst. Our Data Analysts work within our team to provide specific data management support on water and / or wastewater projects to drive increased intelligence for internal and/or external benefit, enhance data driven insights and processes. This will require the ability to increase situational awareness for our clients, building actionable insights to support their strategic objectives.
About The Team:
RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development, to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry, providing challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork to help us meet our clients’ needs.

About You:
As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, your role as Data Analyst is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of water project experts on a range of capital delivery projects.

Your Responsibilities:
1. Supporting and assistance on clean water and wastewater asset management projects such as such as (but not limited to) Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans; Leakage Analytics and other projects requiring detailed technical analysis. A Data Analyst would be responsible for delivery of these projects.
2. Support senior team members in their delivery for a range of water and wastewater projects, whilst a Data Analyst would be expected to additionally show project and team leading responsibilities to support the Team Leader / Technical Manager in the delivery for a range of clean water and wastewater projects.
3. Work closely with internal and external clients to ensure delivery of large size projects are on time, within quality expectations and are financially profitable.
4. Development of opportunities through client engagement.
5. You will be able to provide advice and support to less experienced colleagues that may be under your line management and beyond to further their career development.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
6. You must have a knowledge and experience of GIS packages. ARC GIS, QGIS, MapInfo etc
7. Experience with working with large datasets using programming skills, data manipulation and visualisation.
8. You will have experience in the specific understanding of programming languages such as Python, SQL, FME and Ruby Script enabling integration and enhancement of BAU activities.
9. You will have demonstrable experience in discipline specific data analysis packages, which may be water focused such as InfoWorks or InfoAsset.
10. General understanding of the UK water industry, with a strong association to asset management.
11. Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skillsYou will be expected to demonstrate relevant experience in data management or modelling background at either a consultancy, water company or regulator.
12. You will be expected to have proficiency in MS 365 applications, and have knowledge in key areas such as advanced Excel and Visual Basic
Qualifications:
13. Preferably Degree qualified in a relevant technical subject. Post graduate qualifications an advantage
14. Working towards Chartership / Incorporated Member of Institution. CIWEM, IAM or be able to demonstrate progression towards Chartership (through structured training or informal mentoring).
15. Full UK Driving Licence preferable.
