Innovation & Development Engineer
Location: Cardiff
Salary: 35,000 - 42,000 per annum + pension, life insurance.

Roles & Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of new door designs, features, and hardware to enhance product offerings.
* Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes influencing product innovation.
* Drive value-engineering initiatives to optimise manufacturing efficiency and profitability while maintaining product function and quality.
* Address product development needs arising from customer complaints, procurement requirements, or quality concerns.
* Ensure all development projects follow the structured Innovation & Development process and align with IQC priorities.
* Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks to support design and manufacturing processes.
* Document project progress, design iterations, and technical specifications in accordance with business protocols.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
* Proven experience in product development, engineering design, or innovation within a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
* Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to door and hardware development is an advantage.
* Experience in value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives is desirable.
* Strong technical and engineering knowledge related to product design and development.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and technical drawing creation.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop innovative and practical solutions.
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and market demands in the industry.
* Project management skills to manage multiple development projects effectively.
