I am currently recruiting for a leading Syndicate who are seeking a Credit Analyst to join their growing Political Risk/Trade Credit team.
This position will be working closely with the PR/TC Underwriting teams, focusing on Risk Management and Risk Assessment. You will be responsible for conducting financial and general credit risk assessments on credit proposals submitted by Underwriters for both existing and new counterparties (referred to as 'Obligors').
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct financial and general credit risk assessments on credit proposals submitted by Underwriters for both existing and new counterparties (referred to as 'Obligors'). This includes:
* Evaluating the creditworthiness of the counterparty
* Reviewing the proposed credit limits in relation to FRS's risk tolerance levels
* Determining the Obligor's rating by referencing external rating agency data, internal rating tools, and collaborating with Underwriters to understand the risks associated with the proposed deal structure
* Additionally, support the Credit Risk Manager in establishing exposure limits for obligors and countries through comprehensive credit and macroeconomic analysis.
Knowledge & Skills Required

* Knowledgeable about global current affairs and international finance.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* At least 3-5 years of experience in Credit Risk Analysis, preferably within Financial Services (such as Banking, Insurance, or Rating Agencies).
* Familiarity with political and credit risk insurance underwriting, project or asset-backed finance, and financial modeling is advantageous but not required.
* A solid understanding of various financing techniques and financial instruments is beneficial.
